Calculating

How Much Polymeric Sand Do I Need?

Coverage depends on joint width, paver thickness and paver size, so use the coverage chart on the bag for your specific paver. Wide joints and thicker pavers consume noticeably more sand per square foot.

Small-format pavers have far more joint length per square foot than large slabs, which is why coverage charts list ranges rather than a single number. Slab and natural stone installations with wide joints usually require a product formulated for wide joints. Install polymeric sand on dry pavers, sweep and compact it fully into the joints, remove all residue from the surface, then activate with water exactly as the label directs. Rain before curing is the most common cause of failure. East Coast Landscape Supply can match a jointing product to your paver — (603) 506-6300.
