How Much Stone Veneer Do I Need?

Measure the wall in square feet for flat pieces, measure outside corners in linear feet, subtract openings, then add roughly 10% for cutting and waste. Flats and corners are ordered separately.

Step by step: 1. Multiply height by width for each wall section to get square feet. 2. Subtract windows, doors and other openings. 3. Measure every outside corner from top to bottom and total those in linear feet. 4. Deduct roughly 0.75 sq. ft. of flats for each linear foot of corner ordered, since corners cover part of both faces. 5. Add about 10% to the flats for cuts and waste — more for heavily patterned stone. Confirm final quantities against the manufacturer's coverage figures for the product you choose.
